First of all, let me explain why the comic is late today. I was incredibly sick this past weekend, and I couldn’t work on the computer for more than a couple of hours at a time at MOST. I had a skull-splitting headache which affected my entire body to the point of complete disorientation. I apologize for the lateness and believe me the comic will be up later today. Just keep checking back.
EDIT: So sorry again for the lateness. Just an added bonus to the suckiness of being late, when I woke up this morning my computer wouldn’t boot up. Took me half the day to get it to completely start up. Then for some reason it just took a long time to complete today’s comic. So again, I apologize. The plus side is I feel better. So that’s something.
And oddly enough, the real chair this storyline is based on met with a similar fate. Apparently when moving, Nathan and Adam lost the chair. It simply vanished from their van. It’s been said on dark nights, when the moon is full, you can still hear the scraping of its wooden legs against the dirt out by Lake Ray Hubbard in Garland, Texas looking for its next victim!
So will the chair rear its ugly cushions in the Mint Condition universe again? Only time will tell…
So, onto other things. My hope was that when I got my own domain name and site hosting Mint Condition would be easier to find for new readers randomly searching the internet. After all, who could navigate through the clusterfuck that is the ComicGenesis website? Well, it seems as if I was right. Ever since I officially announced the new site I have new readers, my hits have gone up (although I don’t think I’ve completely converted everybody to the new site) and the comic keeps getting featured! How fun.
First of all, Mint Condition was featured over on Comic Attack (for those who forgot) and now it appears as if Mint Condition has been features elsewhere:
Infinity Comix. It’s a webcomic run by Carl Davis and seems to feature a lot of his original work, but also likes to feature other webcomics to help spread the word. Well I guess Carl likes Mint Condition enough, because he’s officially named me an affiliate of his site, which to me is kinda cool. I mean I won’t have to do any bloodletting or make any sacrifices or anything like a cult (as far as I know), but basically it means I’m a friend of the site, and if he ever makes a book compilation of comics he’s told me I’ll get a mention should I so choose (I do, by the way).
The inaugural month of the new Mint Condition website couldn’t have gone better. Well, there are some ways it could have been better, but really I’m glad with how it went and I’m entirely confident about the future of the site, the comic, and well…myself really. Here’s hoping you all stay along for the ride.
Oh, and I’ll be a really happy camper if I can get the new store up and finally finish this book!

Thanks for the mention in the blog I’m very grateful, and glad you’ve decided to become apart of our Fellowship. Now about the virgin sacrifice…just kidding.
oh and one more thing… I spell it Infinity Komix LOL don’t you love TYPOS. Thanks again for the mention.
Ooooh, that sucks about you getting sick.
Hey John, fyi, I think that you are getting a lot of new hits because your site was featured for about a week on the top webcomic voting site — every time anyone voted, a little ad for Mint Condition popped up. Really enjoy the comic!
Oh. You should apologize for the delay. After all you aren’t getting paid to make new comics, so we should be grateful that you made something even though you were sick. :b
It’s comments like these that really make this feel worth it.
Thanks for the support! I’ll keep making them if you keep reading them.
I woulda complained about the comic being late, but I had to go to the hospital, so I didn’t notice until I just read your blog. But knowing that it was late makes me sad nonetheless.
I remember the chair well. I often slept in that thing. It wasn’t evil, it was simply…. misunderstood.
Yeah right…that chair was evil incarnate. I still miss that stick!
