Yeah, it appears I’ve reached 300 comics as of today.

Well, give or take. Some of them are guest comics. Plus there’s all the comics over on Articulated Discussion that I’m not factoring in…but as for this site, there are 300 comics on it. Which should seem like something of a milestone, but really if it weren’t for the fact that I number the comics on my hard drive, I probably would have passed over it. I haven’t quite gone 3 years, but I have reached 300…which is kinda cool.

I feel like I should making a joke about Spartans, but I already did that a couple of years ago. Plus, it would be dumb. But really, I never thought before I started the site that I would have made 300 comics in a lifetime. I thought I would have run out of ideas by now, but that’s the great thing about having a group of friends like the one Mint Condition is based on. They’re always fueling ideas and making your brain work, so I really can’t take all the credit for these past 300 comics. A huge thank you to the entire real life Mint Condition crew for making all of this possible. If I had never been lucky enough to actually be apart of this second family, I don’t know where I would be in life right now. I certainly wouldn’t be doing Mint Condition, I know that much…

So enough sappiness. You can add your own in the comments, but on to other things! Such as the subject of today’s comics: The Great Texas G.I. Joe Show. As mentioned, it was this past weekend. And it was awesome. I managed to spend more money than I intended, but it’s a good thing I only had a certain amount of cash with me to keep myself in check.

But the even more awesome news is the connections I made there. Specifically, John of Broken Arrow Toys. He specializes in custom figure parts, that he modifies, sculpts, and casts himself. I gotta say, as an action figure customizer myself, I’ve never taken the plunge into casting my own parts, so I certainly tip my hat to him. It’s always good to meet fellow customizers, and another great thing about the show is that I actually met people who recognized Mint Condition. When I said, “yeah I do a Webcomic” and pointed to the logo on the t-shirt I was wearing, it was a pleasant surprised to hear “you do Mint Condition?” and actually have them recognize the comic. I gotta say, in the near 3 years of doing the comic, that’s the first time I’ve had that happen where I wasn’t behind a booth at a convention.

So all in all, this was a good weekend. I met people, bought some new toys, and had the great pleasure of giving you all the 300th Mint Condition comic.

Now to get started on 301…
