First of all, In case you were wondering this is the start of a new storyline. That’s right. It’s about an evil chair. That’s actually sort of based on real life, but I forget why exactly we all thought Adam had an evil chair. I’m sure Nathan can remember, but I forget. I just remember its PRESENCE.

The words "I Called It" will suffice.
Anyway, like I said Mint Condition has been featured in an article over on Comic Attack. Webcomic of the Month is a monthly article that’s featured over there. I was contacted earlier this week to be a part of it, and I was pretty honored I must say. Not only does he write about Mint Condition, I also took part in a fairly long interview, so be sure to check it out. Here’s hoping the article brings in some new readers.
Next, let’s talk about Captain America. Specifically, the movie. I just noticed the other day what Captain America’s costume will look like in the movie. Now, I think it looks GREAT. The thing is though, I already customized a movie concept Captain America a couple of years ago that looks almost exactly like this.
Now I’m not saying it’s 100% like the movie costume (for instance I got rid of the big “A” on his forehead and the colors on mine are a bit more muted and gritty), but it’s pretty darn close, right down to the obligatory buckles and straps running vertically down either side of his chest. It’s funny actually, because originally I only added those for extra detail. My thinking was in the movie they’d probably throw in random crap like that just to add stuff to the costume…oh how right I was.
Now I’m not saying they stole the look from me, I’m just saying it feels good to have pretty much gotten his movie look down. I feel kinda awesome. And it makes me really excited about the Captain America movie. He is one of my favorite Marvel characters after all.
Oh, and I deserve money. Just sayin’.
Next, I just wanted to put a reminder out there about my current custom action figures up for auction on eBay. They’re, ya know…there. So again, if you’re interested check them out. They end in a couple of days.
TweetThis comic took a surprisingly long time to do.
And in case you don’t read the hovertext of the comics, you can expect more of these to come in the future. When I had this idea, I had about 10 others with the same concept, but decided to space them out. The X-Tra Curriculars will be back! Eventually.
so, as usual, I know the comic was a few hours late today. And as usual, I apologize. I just don’t know what is with me lately. I think I’ve officially been put into a rut. This feels very rut-like I must tell you. I can assure you I’m doing everything I can to fix it. I’ve just never been very good at managing my time, and when all my work is spent on the computer and there’s also the internet inside computers…you catch my drift. I can get distracted. Which is really no excuse, but it does happen.
I think once the finished site and book are…finished…I’ll be able to better focus my attention on the actual comic, but I can’t tell you how long that will take. But believe you me, it will be done.
As for the site itself, I’m not going to be moving everything over. There will still be a cast page, links, a forum, etc., but I’m officially removing the Mint Condition store in its current form. CafePress has been doing nothing but hold me back, so once the site is fully operational and it’s been a little while, I think I’ll start making my own merchandise and selling it through here. Of course it would all have to be done in preorders so I could get the initial capital to invest in said merchandise, but I think things would work a lot more economically that way. Plus it would help me gauge just how interested people are in certain products. This would be for the better.
Also, I wanted to let you know about a couple of things I’ve been trying to experiment with. One is Ustream. I’ve seen a lot of Webcartoonists utilize this tool so that people could watch them draw live. I tried it a few nights ago, but had to stop since it was lagging my computer so much as to make work almost nonexistent. I’ll try to get the kinks worked out. If anyone knows how to properly use it, let me know. I’m also experimenting with Formspring. This seems to be another tool some Webcartoonists use so that fans, or anyone really can ask them anything they want and they’ll answer it via Formspring and it automatically gets updated through their Twitter account. It just seems like a lot of fun, really. And the best part is you guys don’t have to get an account there. You could make it anonymous if there’s anything you wanted to ask me that for whatever reason you wanted to keep your identity secret from. Have fun!
AAAAND, one more thing! Just a quick shameless plug about some of eBay listings I have going on right now. I’ve got some customs I’m trying to sell, and you can scroll through the eBay widget to see which ones I have up right now. If anyone at all is interested, please feel free to bid. I’ve been holding out selling these because they’re some of my favorite that I’ve ever done, but alas I must. Sometimes I forget that I make several of these customs for the sole purpose OF selling them, but I can get attached easily…so yeah. Bid.
That is all for now. Until Monday everyone!
TweetHey guys, I’m really sorry about the lateness of the new comic today. Until I can finish it, enjoy the latest installment of Mint Condition on Articulated Discussion. Suffice it to say that I hardly had time to work on the comic. I was swamped, as usual. If anyone still wants to send in guest comics, I’d really appreciate it. I could use the time off again, quite frankly. Anyway, I’ll talk more about it later today after I wake up and finish today’s comic. I hope you guys understand. Thanks!
TweetHello everyone.
I know since the site has been under construction I haven’t posted much of anything in the way of relevant, but I thought I’d give it a try today.
First of all, I’m still working on finishing up the archive, and all the pages. I recently added the archive page so you can click on any calendar date to see the comic for that date, but I’m also going to integrate the OhNoRobot search box as well so you can search for comics by typing in a phrase from it. And if you haven’t noticed already, there’s a dropdown menu right under each comic so you can search them by title as well. Seriously, when it’s all done not a single one of you will be able to complain about not being able to find a comic. I’m going to make sure of it.
I also just want to put out a reminder/request to all of my readers who traveled from the old site, to tell your friends! I’m trying to transfer all the hits to this site as quickly as possible, but of course I need your help with that.
Alright so next I want to talk about commenting. I’ve already mentioned how much I love to read comments, but I thought I’d add some extra incentive. If you comment on anything, you’ll automatically have a randomized avatar assigned to the comment. I’ve uploaded several avatars based on all the Mint Condition characters and I plan to do more of course (they’re fun!) so I thought you guys might enjoy that. Lucky poster The Saverior commented on this comic and had his avatar be Ultimate Gandhi! Seriously, talk about lucky.

And on to the incredibly geeky portion of the new post, let’s talk about toys. For those of you who are G.I. Joe fans, just so you know Family Dollar recently got in a bunch of the last couple of waves of 25th Anniversary figures, for only $3 a pop! Not bad at all. Tuesday Morning (for those of you who have one near you) also carries Joes, for $4 apiece. Also not bad. Also, in an attempt to help out David Willis of Shortpacked! be a pal and vote for Dinobot won’t you? He’s up for the Transformers Hall of Fame and until tomorrow you can vote for him to help (hopefully) finalize his spot in the Hall of Fame. The Transformers Hall of Fame that is. Click on the picture to Vote for Dinobot!
More updates as I work on the site, I promise. It’s gotten to a point where I feel so overwhelmed with everything, that I may actually need help. If anyone wants to help out at all, email me and let me know. I wouldn’t be able to pay you, per se, but I could mention you here on the site and give you a free drawing or something.
That’s about it for today everybody. Until Monday.

In addition to today’s comic on the main site, don’t forget to check out yesterday’s Articulated Discussion comic. And for those of you who are still unfamiliar with the comic, but keep coming to the new site don’t worry. It’s not the final product, I still have lots to do on it. I haven’t even uploaded all the comics yet. Still, if you feel like it leave comments! I love comments, they validate me. Seriously though, comments are cool.
Anyway, expect a more fleshed out blog post from me later. Until then, I’m gonna go to sleep.

Scarlett Johansson. ‘Nuff said. So first off today, I’ll go ahead and point out for those who didn’t notice that last Thursday I didn’t post anything to the news section. It’s not because I forgot, or because I just didn’t feel like it, it’s because…well, it’s sort of because I didn’t feel like it. But that’s only because I was hard at work on the new site. I’ve been working on it so much that the news section was at the back of my mind. Hell, even today’s comic was a few hours late since I spent so much of the last week building the new site and generally trying to figure out ComicPress.
Next, I’d like to say that apparently the cat toast paradox is actually real. Well, the “thought experiment” part of it is real. Nathan pointed it out to me, I did some research, and found it quite hilarious. But, in true Mint Condition fashion, instead of taking the high road with the punchline, I go straight for the zinger. As long as it makes you guys laugh, that’s really all I care about.
Anyway, everything I’m doing with this new site will all be worth it though, and while I can’t fully promise there will be a new News post every Monday and Thursday, there will be a new comic. I’m slowly trying to phase this site out as I make way for the new. I hope you’ll all join in my excitement just a little bit.
So again I apologize for the lack of News last Thursday, and even the lack of explanation for the lack of news (confusing, I know), but you shan’t worry about the comic. It will update just as always.
And for those of you confused about me talking of a “new site”, that would be the one you’re currently reading. Welcome to Mint Condition. If you want, until this one is finished, go check out the old site for the full list of features. It’s hosted on ComicGenesis, but I recently acquired my own domain name and site hosting so the site you’re currently on is 100% mine and I love it. It’s still under construction, though I’m still updating the comic regularly. Feel free to browse the archives as well. I don’t have the full archives up yet, but hopefully sometime this week I will. I hope you enjoy the site, and that the comic makes you laugh enough to keep coming back.
Until Thursday.
TweetWelcome to Mint Condition. Normally it’s a Webcomic updating every Monday and Thursday, but this is the new site and it’s currently under construction. For current updates, visit http://mintcondition.comicgenesis.com until this site is finished. Thanks for visiting!
