Sometimes it’s hard to believe just how long I’ve been doing this. I mean, think about it. 3 years. 3 years I’ve been publishing Mint Condition on the web. That’s 1095 days.
I started doing Mint Condition as just some silly strips that I would share with my friends and make them laugh. Actually, Tim, Dave, and I are the ones that had the original idea, but I guess I kinda just took it a little farther than we initially planned.
After a while I stopped doing the comics and kinda forgot about them. But when I got into college, somehow the idea came back to me to start doing the comics again. And not just make new comics, but to put them online! With the help of my friend Dim McRemnant, it happened. And I also remade all the original comics from way back when. Nobody but my friends have ever seen those, so don’t expect them to be online ever. I will however include them in the book (shameless plug).
Sometimes I think if any one of these events had been different if Mint Condition would still be what it is today. Or if it would even exist at all. But thankfully, those thoughts never plague my mind for too long. I’m just grateful for the past 3 years, and extremely grateful to all the readers I’ve acquired in that time. And just for another shameless plug, I’ll include a full story of the origins of Mint Condition in the book as well.
In other news, someone commented that the Forum link didn’t lead to the Forum. I checked it out and apparently…the site which my forum was hosted on (IPBfree) doesn’t exist anymore…at all. In any capacity. It leads to a godaddy registration page. I did some research and apparently they had some legal issues and the entire site was shut down so there is no forum anymore. All of the comments, threads, games, everything is gone. So for the time being there will be no forum. I’ll try to get another up as soon as I can, because I think my host site Bluehost offers a way to make your own forum, but since that is very time consuming and since everyone kinda says what they want to say already by just commenting on a comic or blog post, I think we’ll just leave it at that. Any comments or suggestions on the subject are welcome. There will be a forum again eventually, just not for the time being.
Oh! Before I forget, there’s an update to the Voltaire show. I said I would post photos as soon as some appeared online, and on the website Naked Lens photos have surfaced! Several of which feature yours truly. Just click on the photo to the right to see a full gallery of photos from the show and more photos of me with Voltaire (hint: they’re on the second page)!
Also, as a treat to fans of Voltaire he’s doing a Twilight version of his very popular song Vampire Club. You can see a preview of the song here. It’s from the same show at The Church. Someone recorded his preview and uploaded it to Youtube, so enjoy! He just finished recording the song, so here’s hoping we get to hear the full version soon.
But I digress. Once again, thank you to everyone who made the last 3 years a blast. Hell, thanks to everyone who made the last 3 years even possible. Thank you to everyone who has been reading since the beginning, and thank you to everyone who have just discovered the comic today. Even if you didn’t like it, thanks for checking it out.
Oh, and the comic is in color now. Happy 3 year anniversary!Tweet
